Open atmospheric data from Casey, Illinois

Aerostratospheric is an Illinois nonprofit and the home of Midwest Stratospheric Data Systems. We build lightweight high altitude balloon platforms, run a ground station in Casey, Illinois, and publish what we collect through UOGW (Unified Open Global Weather).

Use the data

  1. xDataHub, our public open atmospheric data dashboard: the Casey station (KILCASEY47), NASA GLOBE air temperatures from the same site, a radiation index, NOAA KILX soundings beside our own flights, and UOGW boards.
  2. UOGW API docs and the developer overview. The public tier needs no key. Attribution required; curated indexes CC BY 4.0.
  3. Our Hugging Face datasets and models.
  4. STEM program and xPlorer, our signed in learning dashboard with free 1 hour and 5 hour STEM certificates.
  5. Prototypes such as xAirship, a 6 m (20 ft) PVC aerostat on our xPrototypes bench.
